We focus on waste solutions, designing and deploying transformative biology solutions that combine the most effective enzymes, proteins, and microbes with advanced engineering systems to degrade or metabolize contaminants into upcycled, valuable materials.
Identifying, optimizing, and deploying microbes, enzymes and proteins to efficiently transform contaminants, and render them inert
Converting waste into a high-value resource by breaking down, binding or extracting complex molecules to form new material building blocks
Analyzing and evaluating waste streams to understand the presence of contaminants and other target compounds to inform the best solutions
Faced with increasing environmental challenges, mine operators have limited options for the efficient treatment and recycling of legacy assets.
OUR FOCUS
Manufacturing produces a range of unwanted contaminants that can have significant consequences on our land and water resources. Existing mechanical and chemical solutions fall short of the requirements needed to address industrial waste.
OUR FOCUS
The explosive growth in plastics use is outstripping the development of adequate facilities and solutions to treat end-of-life plastic waste and by-products, resulting in an unsustainable overflow into landfills, oceans and waterways.

OUR FOCUS
With strict regulations, especially on water usage and disposal, today’s process water treatment solutions are inefficient and limit energy suppliers’ ability to recycle and discharge wastewater.

Born from Ginkgo Bioworks, we have the advantage of an exclusive partnership with the world leader in synthetic biology. Ginkgo is the only company with the capability to engineer strains at scale using rational and unbiased approaches simultaneously.
Through this partnership, we have unparalleled access to gigabase-scale DNA synthesis capacity and the ability to put billions of potential solutions at our fingertips.
Perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are widely used, long lasting chemicals, which break down over time into contaminants that are extremely difficult to remediate, until now.
Surface Active Foam Fractionation (SAFF®) is a proven solution that uses a natural process to efficiently remove 99+% of PFAS without the use of chemical or absorption media, yielding a low volume, high-density PFAS concentrate for destruction.
In partnership with EPOC Systems, Allonnia is the exclusive distribution partner for SAFF in the US, Canada and Mexico, developing a fleet of SAFF units for lease and sale as well as the capability to perform benchtop treatability studies in their Boston laboratories.
